While Renee worked on cleaning the inside of the boat I I worked on our AC unit which continues to give us challenges. It keeps tripping the breaker when it is cycling down. I removed and cleaned the raw water strainer/filter. I then back flushed the unit. It seems to be working much better now...happy day! I also tried to get our air horn to work. After tracing the electrical current through the wiring and 3 switches (lower helm/upper helm/horn button) we determined that the issue is the solenoid on the horn itself that releases the valve to blow the horn. We called around locally but could not find a replacement. We ended up ordering it on amazon and having it %%%&shipped to Aqua Yacht Harbor where we plan to be by Thursday. Hoping that is the problem and we will be back with horn.
In the afternoon we made a trip into Paducah where Renee got 6" of hair trimmed off...easier boating hair. While she was doing that I went to Lowe’s and bought a roll of reflectix which is essentially a thin bubble wrap with foil reflective surface on both sides. Back to the boat we cut the reflectix to fit in our front and side cabin windows. This made a HUGE difference in the temp inside the boat and made it much easier to cool 😎
After dinner and the brutally hot sun went down we spent an hour or so giving the outside of the boat a good scrub down....she’s looking good 🤩. Wet, sweaty, and stinking we showered and retired for the day.
Ready and excited for another departure tomorrow to head up the Tennessee River!
