Even Renee was up early today, a walk for Riva, setting up the chart plotter, and we were headed out a little after 7 am. It was a beautiful morning with a light fog over the Atlantic Ocean as we left the Hudson Bay. It truly was a great travel day as the waves were small and rolling. This made for a fairly smooth ride. After about 40 miles we pulled into Manasquan Inlet and Captain Bill’s marina for gas. We topped off the tanks and decided to stay on the outside, as opposed to the New Jersey Intercostal which is known for being very shallow.
Back out on the ocean the fog had gotten very thick so we turned on the radar(that we still don’t know how to use very well 😝). Thank goodness the fog lifted and we made pretty good time. The ocean had kicked up just a little and was slightly more bumpy, but still not too bad. We stayed about a mile off of the coast and could see miles and miles of New Jersey beaches. Even saw some people in wetsuits (water temp had dropped to a cold 58 degrees) on surfboards.

The dense fog lifting to reveal the sun was a relief |
Right about 2pm we pulled into the Atlantic City inlet. Not being gamblers or drinkers, this was not a very appealing stop. Lots of fishing boats and jet skis to keep us rocking on anchor. Actually rocked us to sleep for a little nap! Then we got the dinghy down and took Riva ashore for a walk.

Trudging the waterways! |
Erik made some amazing shish-kabobs, one of Renees favorite dinners 😋. We took another quick dinghy ride to take Riva to shore one last time and to try to get some pictures at sun set. Back at the boat clean up and get ready for bed! Loving this “road” of Happy Destiny 🥰
